Hello, Club Wealth family. The Ides of March approaches, but beware only the rising gas prices. Otherwise, it’s listing season – and Listing Agent Boot Camp season! If you haven’t gotten your tickets yet, join us in Denver from April 12-13 and pick up tips from more than 70 breakout and mainstage sessions (more information below).

Some advice for now:

Buyer Agents:

Start with the end in mind. Set a move-in date with your clients to make the house-hunting process finite, adding urgency and fun to the process. Agreeing on this date also removes the potential roadblock of your clients thinking you’re only in it for the sale. Thus you can push them to keep looking at houses based on the deadline, or pull back from looking if they’re tired, as long as it can be planned within your agreed-upon deadline.

Team Leaders & Broker/Owners:

Be passionate. There’s a reason you got into real estate and a reason you chose to build and lead a team. However you express your excitement, let it fuel your team rather than sap its energy. This requires self-knowledge and trust.


Get in a rhythm to more efficiently complete your tasks and decrease stress, but be ready and welcoming of the fact that your rhythm will be disrupted and you will need to adjust. Be self-disciplined enough to recognize when you need to adjust or step outside of your routine to complete a critical task.

Listing Agents:

Don’t try to hide issues discovered in a property. Tough conversations will occur in this industry, as sure as tough situations will arise. It does you no good to hold onto naivety about a potential leak or a needed renovation, e.g., if that issue can ruin the sale. Master the art of delivering bad news – and do it earlier rather than later.



Use an interview rubric to maximize your consistency. At Club Wealth, we prioritize four key personality traits: we like our team members to be hungry, humble, smart, and fun. Our first-stage interview questions are tailored to uncover these traits in our candidates, if they possess them. You may want to prioritize different things – be sure your questions and priorities match them. This is perhaps the most important translation of potential into reality that occurs during your hiring process (apart from the hire itself) and can spell the difference between a team with cohesion and a team that splits at its seams.
