Buyer Agents:

Silence is golden. If you’re in contact with a buyer and they aren’t responding to you, it doesn’t mean they’re denying you. Just as when you walk in a store and tell the salesperson “I’m just looking,” your potential clients are probably browsing the internet for houses they like. Without pestering them, remind them of your existence with regular texts or phone calls. Keep following up until they tell you to get lost.

Team Leaders & Broker/Owners:

Strive to be inspirational. You can achieve this in multiple ways: for example,you don’t have to be a loud talker to inspire. Let your deeds shape your image rather than what you say about them. Do good and take care of yourself. Your team members will appreciate it and will follow.


Get used to pressure. In real estate especially, workflow can rapidly increase and decrease day-to-day, week-to-week, month-to-month, and year-to-year. When things are busy, stay calm and execute the tasks you must in order for the business to succeed. This is one of the most important habits you can develop and will make you indispensable.

Listing Agents:

A great deal of your job, apart from self-promotion and property-promotion, is damage mitigation. So many things can go wrong during a real estate sale, and it’s up to you to create a positive, chauffeur-like experience for your clients and to inform them of updates at each step. Regarding potential issues, inform them if it’s something that will affect them or the sale of their property, not if it’s something you can fix without their knowing about it – unless your failure to fix would cause them a loss.
